As the Wings Lead, I led the design and manufacturing of the Front, Rear, and Side Wings for the Aerodynamics and Composites team. We based the airfoil design off of SolidSim results, and then designed every component that you see here in the CAD (Front Wing not depicted). FEA was performed to confirm safety and proper failure modes of components, and topology optimization was used to inform our design.

Manufacturing of these assemblies was completed in Spring 2021 (delayed due to the pandemic). Major strides were made this year to improve both the quality and speed of each airfoil layup, and great care was taken to improve documentation so future team members can pick up right where we left off.
